Groundbreaking Ceremony
The ground-breaking ceremony of the CharityWorks GreenHouse, the first carbon neutral home to be built on the east coast, was held on June 19, 2008 at 1310 Calder Road in Mclean, Virginia. When completed, the house will use 80% less energy than a conventional home and leave a carbon neutral footprint. Tours of the house, with proceeds going to selected charities, are scheduled for Fall 2009.

While we planned to save 50% of original materials, we were able to preserve 97%.
